How is a bronze statue made?

The creation of a bronze statue, like any creative process, starts with a good idea. From this idea, the first sketches for a new bronze sculpture are made. After the sketches have been adjusted and improved, a 3D model is modeled in clay. In this way, the image acquires a tangible shape for the first time. Adjustments and improvements are made to achieve the desired end result. Once the model has been approved in clay, it is possible to proceed with making the mold or 'mold'.

Adjustments and improvements are made to achieve the desired end result. Once the model has been approved in clay, it is possible to proceed with making the mold or 'mold' Buy Marble statue maker in Jaipur. It is morden type metal statue.

What is the mold made of?

The mold is made of a kind of silicone that includes all the details of the original clay model. If an image is too large to cast in one go, which is usually the case, several smaller casts are made. When we work with the lost wax technique, the mold is covered with warm wax. Once the layer has cooled and dried, a new layer of washing follows. This process repeats visibility until the wax has the desired thickness of the final bronze image. When the desired thickness is reached, the silicone mold is removed and the casting channels are applied. The washing image with pouring channels is immersed in a bath with plaster and hung to dry. When the plaster is dry, the bronze can be cast.

The bronze, an alloy of mainly copper with tin and zinc in addition, is melted at a temperature of +/- 1200 ° C. Once the metal has liquefied, the bronze can be poured into the plaster cast mold via the casting channels. The hot mass of bronze will melt the wax and the bronze will take the place of the wax. When it has cooled down sufficiently, the plastic casing can be removed and the cast bronze statue will appear. The casting channels can now be removed and if the bronze casting is part of a larger image, the different pieces must be welded together. After welding, all welds must also be carefully removed so that you cannot see where the image is put together. The image must finally get its final color. Bronze is naturally yellow or orange, but with treatment with chemicals, the bronze statue gets its final color or patina, which is what we call patinating. A bronze statue usually has a brown, green or black patina, but there are many other options for giving the statue its unique appearance.
